A cataract is defined as a cloudiness in the natural lens of your eye. This results in blurry vision.
The most common cause of a cataract is aging. Other causes include trauma, medications such as steroids, diabetes, and extreme UV light exposure.
The only "cure" for a cataract is to have the cataract surgically removed.
PREMIUM LENS IMPLANTS
During cataract surgery, your cloudy lens is replaced with an intraocular lens implant.
Depending on your prescription needs, you may qualify for a Premium Type lens implant such as a ReStor or Toric lens implant. This could eliminate or reduce your need for glasses.
Dr Allen performs this procedure in an outpatient surgery center. You will resume most activities, including driving, in a day or two.
